今日は産休前の最後の出勤でした。
産休でお休みしている人の代理ということで勤め始めた船舶会社。
はじめは1年という契約だったのだけど、彼女が復帰しないということで
そのまま正社員として働く事に。。。
幸いな事に日本での貿易・輸出入の仕事の経験が役に立ち
仕事面ではそれほど困った事はなかったけれど、
はじめの数ヶ月は同僚の話している事の半分くらいしか理解できず、
電話をとっても、2回は最低聞き返さないと名前と会社を聞き取れず、
冷や汗をかきながらの毎日でした。
電話にでたお客さんに「はぁ～」とため息をつかれたことは
数えきれないほどあったし、名前を間違えたり、会社名を間違えたまま
ボスに電話をとりついだこともあった。
でもずっと夢にみていた現地の人に囲まれての仕事はとっても
やりがいがあって、辛いと感じるよりもとても魅力的でした。
毎日が刺激的で、会社に行くのが本当に楽しかった。
同僚とも半年過ぎた頃から気心がしれて、他愛のない話が出来るようになり、
会社帰りに飲みに行くようになり、いつの間にか7人しかいないブリスベン支社
の皆が同僚を超えて、家族のような存在になりました。
そして気づいたら4年が過ぎてました。
1年の産休後、仕事復帰するかどうか、まだ分からないけれど、
本当に実りのあるキラキラ輝く4年間でした。
そして写真は皆から頂いたお花と離乳食用のプラスチックの食器・そして商品券です。
Today was my last day at work.
Over 4 years I have so much valuable memories.
I still remember how nervous I was on 1st day; 'cause
this is the first Australian company I work for.
And surrounded by Aussie...
My English was not good enough (maybe still dodgy!!) to
understand what my colleagues were saying.
And I had no idea to bring up the topic to start conversation.
But my position was a replacement for a woman who took
12months maternity leave, so I was just trying my best as
much as I can. And I was so happy to get a job to work with
Australian people in Australia.
My closest colleague was lovely girl.
We work together at export department.
She became my best colleague ever. And also became my friend.
We are same age, but she is so mature &
always led me to right direction.
She is smart & intelligent, but also very thoughtful & kind.
Ah, she is the girl who made nice lasagne.
I cannot thank her enough as she did so much to me....
And very talkative man.... he has been so lovely since I started.
Always looked after me & how busy he was, he explained until I
understand. And he calls girls "sweetie" which is so cute.
Also I had a boss who is always calm & very gentleman-like...
I couldn't talk to him much as I wanted - don't know why!
But his knowledge towards marketing was incretably amazing &
his knowing people in this industry are extremely huge...
Young girl at Import dept... she started after me... but
she learnt things so quickly & her memories are surprisingly
good. She always smiles under any circumstances &
doesn't show her stress.
And state manager... he is very easy to talk to & says jokes....
It helped me a lot when I was stressed.
Today, I got morning tea for the team, but I accidently got
mousse which as macadamia nuts in it.... and he is allergy with
nuts.... OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOps.....
And also colleagues in other states were lovely too.
It has been a wonderful experience & great 4 years thanks to them.
I already miss them.....
