Bushido
「塚原卜伝」見られましたか？
よくチャンバラにありがちな、刀と刀を合わせるようなアクションではなく、相手の動きに合わせて間合いを詰めて、甲冑の隙間を突く古流剣術ならではの動きは、なかなかよく出来ていました。
まあ途中、空中で斬り合ったりするのは、ちょっとどうかと思いましたが・・・。
でも、それを差し引いても、今後も期待できそうな時代劇でよかったです。
前置きはさておいて、HDの中から、懐かしいデータが出てきました。
14年ほど前に、英語のスピーチコンテストのために書いた文章「Bushido」です。
英語はもともと全然ダメだった私が、その時好きだった英語の先生の気を惹きたいがために猛勉強していた頃のものです＾＾；
内容はもちろん、武士道についてです。
難しい表現はそれほどないと思いますが、少しあまり聞かない単語も入っています。
興味があれば、読んでみてください。
中国好きばかりを強調していますが、武士道の倫理観はやはり日本人の原点であり、それは私も例外ではありません。
だから、最後の「私は現代の武士（モダンサムライ）になりたい」という思いだけは、長い月日が経った今も、変わってはいません。
Today I'll talk about my favorite philosophy, "Bushido", the samurai spirit.
I believe bushido is the spiritual basis of the Japanese, and wonderful culture.
Bushido was formed in Japan based on Confucian ideas from China.
A good concept to express bushido is "Bushido is the way of death".
This may sound difficult to understand,
but I think it means "Bushido is to devote your life to your faith and loyalty."
In other words, bushido is to risk everything for something worth your own life, for example, justice, love, family, friends, work, and so on.
When you live and die for something you believe, your devotion brilliantly shines through.
Katana is a Japanese sword, but it is not just a weapon, but the spirit of the samurai.
The samurai class carried katana in order to achieve justice with it.
They even sacrificed their lives out of loyalty.
I believe this sense of loyalty still remains in the heart of Japanese people.
I'd like to be a modern samurai, with a katana and the samurai spirit in my soul.
