Idei's view
Last week I attended Globis’s top seminar. The guest was SONY’s previous CEO Idei Nobuyuki who is SONY’s top advisor now. I would like to introduce what he talked and what his message was.
He talked about CEO’s job. He said CEO’s job is “making balance-sheet smaller”. Japanese usual CEO advance his or her career experiencing selling products, thus they got it their head that “making income statement better is the most important thing”. Idei said “I don’t want to mention that income statement is not so important, but Checking & controlling balance-sheet is more important as a CEO’s job.” I think what CEO should do first is checking on balance sheet, for example, making inventories smaller or selling dormant asset, before making sales larger.
And he also mentioned the key point of decision making. He said “I can judge when I watch subordinate’s eye. Their eye indicates their confidence. In addition, person who said must do what they said. A way of thinking like I am a thinking person, and other people is doing person is danger.”
He gave us some hints to be a good manager!
My project's introduction
This morning, I went to berliz to have a private English class. The theme is Business negotiation. Though I am not a sales person, I think negotiation skill is necessary for consultant, I asked the berliz to entry higher level. This time we discuss the pros and cons of E-mail. E-mail’s Pros are it is recordable, easy to tell something, otherwise, cons are having risk of misunderstanding, difficult to deal little things, and so on. Recently I go to berliz once a weak, and I enjoy speaking English with natives for 1 hour and half.
I’d like to explain what I am doing every day. My job is business consulting, and my present client is sea foods wholesaler. My client is going to change the corporate structure to holding company. Because market environment changes fast, the client group’s achievement is getting worse. They faced the situation that they must changed management policy, and top management decided to reinforce the group management (& government) and realization of group management plan. That was the reason why we consult them. We support to make group management plan from 2007-2009 and changing group structure.
I want to write my experience and thought of everyday.
Diary in English!
This morning, I decided to write my blog in English everyday.
The reason is simple. I wish to to write english smoothly.
Furthermore one of my goal is getting MBA degree.
I think some of you might know, to go MBA school you need to get TOEFL high score and you have to write short essay.
I also decided one rule to keep writing this blog in English. That is spending only 30 minutes!
I will spend just 30 minutes to write my diary, and I try to write as fast as I can.
I'm thinking i don't know how long I can keep writing, but I believe this custom make my Englishe skill higher.
If someone read my blog, It is Okey to comment in Japanese.
I hope I could have a time to write tomorrow diary. Good by!
