ご興味のある方は…というより、
もしも読者の中に、実際にアマチュア・バンドで演っていたり、
「独学で太鼓を叩いてる…」というような人がいるなら、
本物のプロの音を一度 聴いてみるのもいいと思う。
場所も阿佐ヶ谷だから、都内近郊の方は昼間の仕事帰りでも
開演時間にはじゅうぶん間に合うと思う。
　　　
伊丹哲也さんの毎回のLive には欠かせない存在でもある、
ドラム・アーティスト assimilate さん という人は、
これまで何度か このサイト上でもコメント交流もあって、 （恐れ多くも）
一部の読者は既にご承知の通り、
過去にはエルビン・ジョーンズやフランク・ザッパ と共演（ある期間、サポート・メンバーだった）もあって、
日本のミュージシャンには数少ない貴重な経験が多々ある方です。

簡単に云うと、一人の脳味噌の中に世界中の音楽が詰まっていて、
それが一度に凄まじい音で奏でられてしまう…という、
単なるロックでもなければ、前衛音楽でもなくぅ…
そうだなぁ…たとえば、比べ物にはならないけど、
石井竜也監督ひきいる米米クラブや、
今村ねづみサン率いるTHE CONVOY の舞台パフォーマンスとか、
ああゆう…あれに近い醍醐味が、いっきに飛び出てくるような演奏をやってた。
顔は、もちろん日本人ではない。　（どこの国の人だったか？）
ワーグナーとニーチェの親戚のような、それでいて、
いかにもバター臭い感じのするオジサンだった。
もう死んでしまって、この世にはいない。

ただ、残された録音の音源は何万、何十万曲あると云われるほど、
生前に発表されたレコードやCDも正規のモノだけで、
おそらく数百枚の発表作を越えていたと思う、たしか。
とにかく、年間に発表した枚数というのが、一時期はハンパではなかった。
「一度 聴きこむとヤミツキ」というより、中毒になってしまうので、
俺は恐くてあまり聴く機会を避けてた（？）けど、別にキライとかじゃない。
たぶん、今の日本のCD業界の現状では、そのすべての入手は不可能だし、
もしも中毒になって、次から次へと出された音源を買い揃えるには、
経済的にタイヘンだ。
しかも、運良くどこかで、その量をぜんぶ聴くとなると…恐ろしい。
生きているうちに全部聴くことができるのか？
今は“ベスト盤”というのもあるかも知れないけど、
どれがベストで、何がいつ頃に演奏された何の曲なのか？　
日本で出されてる編集盤なんてのは当てにならない。
それほど数が多い。
で、そんな話もまた長くなっちまったけど、
そういう怪人と一緒にプレイした経験がある日本人は、たぶん、
assimilate さん 以外にはいないんじゃないかな。
だから、assimilate さんもフツーの、その辺にいるドラマーではない。
んまぁ、過去の経歴がどうあれ、大事なのは“今”だ。
いま現在、生きている魂が奏でる音をナマで聴くことができるという貴重な瞬間は、
ライヴ会場で聴いてみないと絶対に判らない。
世の中の何のアーティストを題材に、どんなCDコレクターや音楽評論家が何を言っても、
既に他界して、現実の世界にいない者には、
生きている肉体を持った人が奏でる音は出せない。
当たり前だけど、大事なことだ。
そんなことより、
俺のように安っぽく、表現力の貧しさが目立つ内容とは違って、
現在の“ドラム・アーティスト、assimilate ”の素晴らしさを
もっと丁寧に、巧みな文学的表現を用いて書いている人もいる。

An interesting person … Rather than
It actually performs and I think that listening to a genuine
